Working from home has its perks, but the days can be very long. Here are 7 things you can do in 10 minutes or less to generate more energy and keep the momentum up throughout the day.
1. Drink a glass of water
Sometimes I get so busy that I find myself not drinking enough water in the morning. Down a glass and watch your body and mind feel a mini restart.
2. Put down your phone!
Scrolling through Instagram or Facebook may feel like a break from work, but your mind is still consumed by others and not resetting from this.
3. Climb the stairs
Go up and down your stairs a few times to get your heart rate moving.
4. Call your mom, dad or a family member
What family member doesn’t get excited to hear from a relative during the day? If they are busy, just leave a voicemail and tell them what’s on your mind.
5. Do a crossword puzzle
Working on a puzzle can re-shift your brain from being overloaded by emails to something quick and thought provoking.
6. Flip through a magazine
Keeping the latest issue of Eating Well, Parents, or HGTV around can induce some healthy thoughts outside of your work brain.
7. Get some fresh air
Enjoy some sunshine. Take your pup for a walk or just sit on your porch and take a couple of deep breaths.
